Spyware

Spyware is one of those terms that can be misleading. This is because spyware does more then just simply record which websites you visit regularily, collecting personal and something sensative information about you. It also causes ads to appear and change your computers configuration, all without your concent. Of course not all ads are a result of spyware, some of these are pop-ups set up to appear when you click at a certain site.

What it is, isn't as important as what it can do. Changing your browser, changing what your start up page is, recording information like your credit card, home address, even your phone number. By knowing what sites you vist, it can target ads that might appeal to you, perhaps even directing you to a download that not only has that music or movie file you want but has a new spyware program piggybanked within the files.

There are plenty of anti-spyware programs out there. The bad news is some programs that promice to protect your computer and you, are actually spyware programs in disguise. Getting rid or rival software only so that they get your details all to themselves. If you want to be sure that your anti-spyware software does what you want it too try this review site
